Thermotherapy is the therapeutic application of heat which increases temperature and accelerates the chemical reaction in the body. Thermotherapy induces a sense of wellbeing as the brain sends signals causing a relaxed state due to dilation of blood vessels and increased blood flow. Heat works by drawing blood into the targeted tissue and helps oxygen and nutrients to pass through efficiently. This treatment also removes cell waste, reduces tense muscles, decreases muscle spasm and totally relaxes the body. Thermotherapy is already being used on chronic conditions or for persistent aches and muscle discomfort as well as stiffness, muscle spasm and pain relief. Thermotherapy can be offered in collaboration with many other beauty treatments – it is often the preliminary stage of any treatment.

By opening the pores, thermotherapy offers the perfect way to prepare skin for many cosmetic procedures such as: facials, massage, Microdermabrasion etc.
Hot treatment application prior to massage will speed up muscle relaxation, enhance local circulation and prepare the area for deeper massage techniques
Thermotherapy is a very soothing and pleasant treatment allowing the client to completely relax during the procedure

This therapy can be taught either in conjunction with Cryotherapy or on its own – please ask for details.

Continual observation will take place during the students practical session
