Q. Prices - What makes our courses special?

Our courses are priced to be affordable for all. We offer smaller classes, making sure you get individual attention from the tutor.

All courses you attend with Natural Therapy Studio.

Each student will receive an excellent course training manual, emailed prior to course date. This covers the course material and all techniques you will learn on the day. This makes it easier for you to remember the routine without having to make notes on the day. After the course training day, you are required to practice on family and friends until you are confident you’ll be able to give the massage both safely and effectively. We make sure you gain enough practice on the training day to remember the technique.

Some courses have question to be answered before the course. This requires some pre course reading of the manual.

Our tutors are always available by email or phone if you need aftercare and help after your practical training day.

Many students, who have attend our courses, would not change anything about the training day. See course testimonials below.

Our courses are registered and accredited with the CMA - (Complementary Medical Association), as well as with The Guild of Holistic Therapists and the Guild of Professional Beauty Therapists. This allows you to obtain insurance and practice on the general public and be able to charge.

Our One-Day Diploma Courses are ideal for beginners to start as a therapist or for experienced therapists to offer another popular therapy to their clients.

Therapists can also gain CPD points (Continuing Professional Development)

You will receive a Natural Therapy Studio Diploma on completion of the course.

Q. Size of classes - If only two people are booked in will it still go ahead?

Yes we still go ahead with the class. A minimum of 2 students are need to run the course. (Some areas require 4 please check) This is so you have a practice partner to work on the day. We specialise in small classes to ensure one-to-one tuition.

Many other course providers offer larger classes with 25 - 35 people in them. They learn the same technique but as the classes are larger it takes longer to teach, thus making it more expensive and more training days.

Our one-day courses only take a maximum of 6 students per class.

Q. How can I learn everything in one day?

You would already have read the workbook training manual before attending the practical training day.

This covers Anatomy and Physiology, Health & Safety, Contraindications, History of the Massage, Client Consultation, Insurance and much more. On the days training, we concentrate mainly on the practical and learning the massage sequence.

Q. Do I need Anatomy & Physiology or Previous Experience in Massage to attend your Courses?

Anatomy & Physiology is NOT required by the insurance companies for many of our courses and these courses are suitable for beginners as well as experienced therapists.

Complete beginners to massage are required to complete a short test on A&P & Health & Safety on the days training.

We do recommend also completing an Anatomy & Physiology Course. We offer this as a home study/distance learning course. Level 3 Diploma:  40 CPD Points.

Q. When will I get my certificate and what will it say?

Certificates are given on the day, only once students have demonstrated that they have absorbed the information presented during the day and after applying a satisfactory treatment observed by the tutor. (Final exam and assessment) You will receive a Natural Therapy Studio Diploma

To ensure that we carry out good practice, should the tutor feel that you would benefit from further training, your certification will be held back and you will offered the opportunity to attend the next available course that has a space, which you will be required to pay again in full. This is rare but we would not want to send out students, when the tutor felt they were unsafe in any way. You must reach the correct standard to enable them to issue you with a certificate. We would recommend reading the course training manual sent to you before your course.

You may be asked to complete case studies by your tutor. Before a certificate is given (this will help with your practice and learning)

*Students new to massage*
Complete beginners to massage are required to complete a self check exercise on A&P & Health & Safety on the days training. All the information is in the manual emailed before the course. *New students compulsory DVD (£10.00 extra) for Indian Head Massage & Thai Foot Massage courses.

Q. What are CPD Points?

All our courses have been awarded CPD points (Continuing Professional Development). There are a certain amount of points required by the various Governing Bodies (IFPA, FHT, BABTAC etc) to ensure that members are continually learning and up to date with various therapies.

Q. How do I book on a course?

Go to our booking form page. Complete booking form and make payment

You can pay by Cheque, Postal Order, Paypal (fees apply) in our shop or Bank Transfer.

Once you have made you deposit payment, your course manual will be emailed to you to print off. (Manual's can be posted to you at a cost of £5 each) Please bring manual to your training day.

Q. Do we have a Final Exam

On the practical training day. You will be required to complete a final exam, an assessment of the routine, you have learnt.

Complete beginners to massage are required to complete a short self check exercise on A&P & Health & Safety on the days training.

Q. Do I need to bring anything to the course?

Do I need to bring anything?

- The Training Manual
- Thin strap vest top or vest top (men)
- Loose trousers that roll up to the knee (TFM only)
- A packed lunch
- A bottle of water
- Jumper (after receiving treatment you may get cold)
- A set of Biosun Ear Candles (or buy on the day from tutor) (Hopi only)
- Socks of slippers for comfort
- Hair band for long hair
- Do not wear jewelry
- Dressing gown or bath robe
- X3 large towels to sufficiently cover your body for massage
- X2 hand towels to wrap placement stones

Q. Moblie Tuition Service

Mobile Tuition

We realise that it may not always be possible for you to travel to our venues to attend a courses. The Natural Therapy Studios offers a Mobile Tutor service.
To qualify for our service, there should be a minimum of four students who want to learn. All you need to do is provide the venue, a saloon or private home.
You also need to supply chairs or couches, then we can come to you. *Travel and tutor accommodation payable between students.*

Q. What happens if I have to cancel or postpone my course?

Terms & Conditions

Cancelling a course will incur the following fees

Cancelation of a course (if you cancel your course)

  • All courses cancelled up to 7 days before the course start date: 100% of the fee still applies. (no refund will be given)
  • Course date change £25 admin fee will apply
  • No date change 7 days before course start date
  • All deposits are non refundable

If the required numbers of students are not met your course will be rescheduled. This is not a cancellation of the course. The course would not have run due to minimum numbers of students not being met.

Q. Who are our courses registered and accredited by?

Natural Therapy Studio is accredited and recognised College and training school.
Our Diploma courses enable you to practice professionally and gain membership and insurance

Our courses are registered and accredited with the CMA - (Complementary Medical Association), as well as with The Guild of Holistic Therapists and the Guild of Professional Beauty Therapists. This allows you to obtain insurance and practice on the general public and be able to charge.

Q. Beginners to massage

Complete beginners who do not have A&P or a massage background

*Students new to massage*
Complete beginners to massage are required to complete a short self check exercise on A&P & Health & Safety on the days training.

New students may need more than one day to complete the course.
If the tutor feels you require more massage practice, you would need to go away and practice at home.
*You can pay and book onto the next available course till your reach the required standard to pass the course.

*To ensure that we carry out good practice, should the tutor feel that you would benefit from further training, your certification will be held back and you will offered the opportunity to attend the next available course that has a space, which you will be required to pay again in full.

Q. Intensive One-Day Courses

We offer intensive one-day courses (we recommend you read your course training manual sent to you before the course). You need to be in good health and ready to study on you training day.

Please inform you tutor if you have any medical conditions.
Do not drink alcohol 48 hours before course as you will be dehydrated.

I really can’t think of anything in the structure of the course that you could improve on. your guidance and tutorial was excellent, I was really impressed with the manual that you gave us. Such detailed manuals are not often supplied and it was such a help. It helped me remember absolutely everything as I did the treatment since. The diagrams are so helpful.

Many thanks for your patience on Monday. I really enjoyed the course and can't really think of any way of making it better - I think it was helpful that there were only two of us and we could have individual attention but the pace was good and I came away feeling that I could start treating clients straight away. I think it also helps being in a "home" situation rather than a classroom - not so intimidating! You were very welcoming and it was easy to relax.

As you know from previous conversations, I have a particular ‘thing’ against feet – I don’t like my feet being touched, but even worse, I hate touching other people’s feet. You made everything so friendly and natural that I managed to get through the course when I doubted myself. Touching somebody elses feet was a big thing for me. I actually felt like being sick but I shut that out and listened to your voice (which was very calming) and took on board what everyone else was saying......and please put this in your testimonials if you think it will help others..........and I managed to do what I didn't think I could and I'm so glad that I did.
I can’t wait to book onto the Oriental Hand Massage now.

I found the pace at which we worked to be just right. It enabled us to have lots of hands on experience which is what was needed.
Time wasn't wasted with lots of pointless talking!!
My mum found it really good. She has aphasia following a stroke and finds it hard to relax. She slept soundly on Sunday night following the massage.

In fact I’ve done one already.
I had my friends Pamper Party yesterday and did hour treatments for her mates – 5 Indian Head and 2 Hopi. They all loved it. I was exhausted and exhilarated at the same time. It was wonderful and I really think that I’m going to enjoy my new career. I’m intending doing the Thai Foot Massage and the Oriental Hand Massage in the near future so will check your page for dates and be in touch very soon.

Hopi Ear Candling

YES very good. Feel I could do it without much practice.
I felt very alive last night even read 3 night time stores to my Grandchildren and enjoyed doing it.
Do you remember I showed you my spotting face down each side of my chin; well this morning one side has completely disappeared. Next week I am going to get someone to do it on me again and see if the spots on the other side of my face disappear, great if it works again.
It certainly works.
