A recognised and accredited College and training school by the CMA. Their Diploma courses enable you to practice professionally and gain membership and insurance. You will receive a Practitioner certificate in Seated Oriental Bamboo Massage Therapy by the CMA.
Please book early to avoid disappointment - a maximum of 6 students can be booked onto each course, to ensure that you get the optimum learning experience, and individual attention. (Minimum of 2 students per course is required)
What is Bamboo Massage?
Bamboo massage is a technique that incorporates bamboo stalks of varying lengths and diameters to provide deep-tissue work. (The Japanese name for bamboo is “take”, while the Chinese call it “chu”. It is from this word that the cho sticks, used by some bamboo massage practitioners, take their name.) Bamboo massage itself promotes circulation, sensory nerve perception, and lymphatic drainage and provides a deep sense of relaxation and well-being.
This treatment is non-invasive as the massage can be applied through clothes and therefore can be performed anywhere. You can now learn these techniques which combined with the ancient cultural tradition gives a very relaxing massage helping alleviate the demands of modern life. An added benefit for the practitioner is that using the bamboo sticks helps to reduce stress and strain on hands and fingers while still allowing for deeply penetrating. This course also includes work on the Meridian Lines and acupressure points which are activated using the point of a small Bamboo cane.

Home study - 2 day Pre-course reading and questions are required to be completed before the training day. (emailed to you) This allows for an intensive one day practical study of the routine.
Everything you need to learn this treatment is included in this course. A Bamboo Kit and Heating Pad will be required after the course for this treatment. (details in your manual)
Do I need to bring anything?
- The Training Manual

- Jumper (after receiving treatment you may get cold)
- Socks of slippers for comfort
- Hair band for long hair
- Dressing gown or bath robe
- X2 large towels to sufficiently cover your body for massage
- X2 hand towels
- Do not wear jewellery
